Waco Composites, Ltd. was officially established in April of 1996 with the sole purpose of focusing on one product line or niche within the security industry. We believe that by focusing on fiberglass bullet resistant panels, we have become the best and most efficient manufacturer in this industry. Due to this exclusive focus, we have built an abundant number of respected contacts and business associates in the security field.
With more than twenty years of experience in ballistic panel design and fiberglass product development, Waco Composites, Ltd. now leads the industry. Prior to establishing Waco Composites, Ltd., our CEO had designed and developed ballistic resistant panels for private corporations, government agencies, and prototyped ballistic spall-liners for the US Army. Our emphasis has always been in research and development and a rigorous quality assurance program with continuous testing of our products to ensure the highest degree of product integrity.
Further, our products are UL Listed by the largest independent testing company in the world. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. conducts ballistic tests on our panels 4 times per year. This ensures that our panels meet or exceed the performance criteria of the UL752 Standard for Ballistic Resistant Materials. Waco Composites, Ltd. currently employs 35 people and is a professional member of the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Specification Institute, the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the Associated General Contractors of America, the American Society for Industrial Security, and the Texas Society of Architects.
Our company and our products are featured on the Discovery Channel 5 times a year and we are currently pioneering in the development of ballistic safe-rooms for the workplace and in the home. ArmorCore® panels have been specified in hundreds of projects to include the GSA, PBS, DEA, US Customs, FBI, ATF, US Marshals, The Department of Defense, The Pentagon, US Treasury Department, and numerous federal, state and local courthouses and criminal justice facilities, banks, safe-rooms, and in dozens of Internet Data Centers. Waco Composites, Ltd. contributes research and articles and has been published in several major architectural magazines.
