Waco Composites, Ltd. is dedicated to continuous R&D programs resulting in numerous product innovations to benefit our customers and improve the quality of the products offered. WC, Ltd. partners together with several manufacturing companies to assist them in the design of ballistic resistive products and equipment that meet various specifications. When certain architects in the United States were in need of a one-hour fire-rated panel that meets the UL752 specifications, Waco Composites quickly responded and introduced a line of panels that are now used for interior fire-rated wall assemblies throughout the country.

Recent research and development projects completed include:

Determined R-Value ratings for various bullet resistant panels for building code compliance in the western region of the United States.
Designed ArmorCore® configurations for use by the United States Armed Forces against weapons such as the AK-47, the M-16, and the AK-74.
Designed and fabricated bullet resistant protective boxes for the telecommunications sector.
Determined sound transmission loss characteristics of ArmorCore for use by architects and engineers for design purposes.
Designed ArmorCore® that could be bent around a radius without sacrificing ballistic resistive properties.
Assisted a door manufacturer in the design of a bullet resistant overhead panel door.
Tested and determined the usefulness of ArmorCore® for 'Safe-Rooms' to resist the winds of F-5 Tornadoes.
Assisted LLNL scientists in developing armoring systems for military vehicles in Iraq
